Absolut WHITE BALL 2009 in association with Wrapped magazine
A BALL FIT FOR A QUEEN
South Africa’s two top gay promoters, Juicy (Cape Town) and Qc2
(Joburg) have joined forces to bring you the most fabulous event on
this winters clubbing calendar: “THE Absolut WHITE BALL 2009” in
association with Wrapped magazine. The Absolut White Ball will hit
Cape Town on Saturday 30 May and then heads up to Joburg on Friday 5
June 2009.
As with similar events internationally where brands create
theatrical masterpieces, we will dress the Absolut White Ball to
create a perfect white setting that is classical enough to
compliment the requested formal white attire, yet hip and modern
enough to entice dancing to local hot DJ’s and live performances
until the early hours of the morning.
In 2006 and 2007 this event was one of our most memorable and is
fondly remembered for the vast numbers of Qc citizens that dressed
in white. This event has become a yearly institution the will go
from strength to strength and therefore it’s naturally branched out
to Cape Town.
“Do not be fooled by the formality of the dress code request,”
Pieter of Qc2 warns interested parties. “We also expect men in white
dresses and those who do not own one already, are encouraged to
borrow one from their mother or grandmother’s closet! But expect
lots of sparsely dressed men everywhere dancing the night away to
world class music.”
Artists have also noticed the Qc2 and Juicy parties and have
expressed an interest to stage one-off events for gay audiences
during national concert tours by local and international artists.
The White Ball 2009 in Johannesburg will feature a live performance
by the SA super group “Jamali”. Jamali recently won the SAMA for
best English Pop Album and this trio is rapidly cementing their
place as a world-class pop act – as good, of not better, than
anything currently released in the international music market. The
DJ’s performing at the White Ball 2009 also features the cream of
SA’s best, no surprise then that this event will be: “A BALL FIT FOR
A QUEEN”

NOTES TO THE EDITOR:
Qc2:
Since our birth in May 2006 Qc has brought the best possible events
to Gauteng’s high-end gay community while providing the best
marketing avenues for our sponsors and venues. Qc has earned the
enviable reputation of continuously offering outstanding well
supported attitude free, gay events in a classy environment. Just
ask any gay man or gay girl in Johannesburg about Qc. One thing is
for sure; Most have been and at the next event will probably be in
the queue in front of you! Qc has in almost 3 years of existence
produced 38 successful events with a number of very successful mega
events that will now become the focus of Qc2’s annual festivities.
JUICY:
Juicy started out in 2007 and filled a gap in the market as there
was no club experience available to the gay market in Cape Town at
the time. The brand successfully launched itself at Roosevelt in
Bree Street and was the highlight end-of-month event for all of the
gay elite and socialites to attend. Since then Juicy has hosted many
successful events including the official pride closing parties in
2008 and 2009, the last event, PRIDE 2009 After Party was in
association with Gaydar set a great benchmark for events going
forward as 700 people rocked the night away.
